Unfortunately, I didn't think to bring my own three-prong adapter to Japan, so tomorrow after registration I think I will go on the hunt through Akihabara so I can charge my poor computer. It's at ten percent, so I must keep things short today. Mostly because I don't feel like being on the community computers tonight.
I did my placement tests today--English was easy, I don't know what to think about the math yet, and Japanese was horrible. I don't even know where to start with that really. I'm back in Elements 2 Japanese--the pace here and the information in each section is a bit different from any of the other classes I've taken so far. I will be taking that and a conversational Japanese class as well as something else--hopefully something art related. That would be nice. Hopefully three classes will be enough without stressing me out too much.
I'm getting used to the trains here in Tokyo. They're packed most of the time, but everyone is quiet and polite--it's a big change from the noisey, rude bus riders in Spokane. We're always paranoid about the possibility of someone 'falling' in front of the train however. It seems that suicide by train is a relatively common event. I don't think I want to experience it!
Went to Jusco today and bought some food--Bananas, apple tea, apple juice, Black Chocolate (Meiji), and a pack of large pork buns for 789yen. I think that tomorrow I will stock up on cheap onigiri as well. I had a mayonase & tuna onigiri for lunch today and it was really good, and only 105yen! I wouldnt mind buying a handful and eating one everyday.
Anyway, I doubt my comptuer will last much longer. So I'd best be running off now. I want to sleep soon anyway. Another relatively early start tomorrow--I want to get there on time today, not 20 minutes 'late'. Luckily, check-in for the test was until 9:30, so we were just in time.
Tomorrow I will also try to begin taking pictures and video. I keep forgetting to take my things with me!
Goodnight!
おやすみなさい!
